Issue/Introduction

Upgrading the VMware Tools version of vRealize Operations is unsupported.
The vSphere client may report the vRealize Operations nodes as having a VMware Tools version that is out-of-date; this message can be safely ignored.

Resolution

New releases of vRealize Operations included the latest version of VMware Tools at the time of release.  Upgrading vRealize Operations will also upgrade the VMware Tools version of your vRealize Operations nodes.

If the VMware Tools version is manually upgraded on any vRealize Operations node, it can cause serious damage to the vRealize Operations cluster and it may have to be re-deployed, potentially leading to data loss.
This is an unsupported configuration of vRealize Operations and you would not be entitled for support from VMware Global Support (GS).

Note: VMware vRealize Operations is considered as a black box appliance and should not be modified unless directed by VMware Global Support (GS).
