Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
When attempting to add a new LDAP domain in VMware Integrated OpenStack there will be a configuration error. On the OpenStack Management Server there will be an error in /var/log/column/ansible.log similar to the following:

An exception occurred during the task execution. To see the full traceback, use -vvv. The error was: keystoneauth1.exceptions.http.Unauthorized: The request you have made requires authentication. (HTTP 401)

Environment

VMware Integrated OpenStack 5.x

Cause

The domain must be created in OpenStack before it is added. The configuration script is failing to find the domain.

Resolution

The domain will need to be created in OpenStack before re-attempting the configuration:
  1. Log into your OpenStack deployment as admin.
  2. Select Identity -> Domains -> Create Domain.
  3. Make sure the domain is set to "Enabled".
  4. Re-attempt the configuration.
