Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • "The view does not exist" message will appear for some of the Out of Box dashboard widgets
  • Fresh installations of the Management Pack for Horizon version 2.0.0 (build 19242915) are missing most of the views. This impacts the following dashboards of this type of deployment: Horizon Availability, Horizon Capacity (Pool Utilization widget), Horizon Configuration, Horizon Day to Day Operations, Horizon Inventory, Horizon Performance, Horizon RDS Performance, Horizon Users, Horizon VDI Performance, Horizon World Overview, Horizon World UAG Performance Analysis, Horizon World User Performance, Horizon World VDI Session Performance
  • Upgraded installations, for example from version 1.2 to 2.0.0 are missing UAG views. This impacts the following dashboards of this type of deployment: Horizon Availability, Horizon Configuration, Horizon Day to Day Operations, Horizon Performance, Horizon RDS Performance, Horizon VDI Performance, Horizon World Overview, Horizon World UAG Performance Analysis
  • Under Support Logs > VIEW_BRIDGE > view-bridge.log in the VMware Aria Operations UI, or via console/ssh in /storage/log/vcops/log/view-bridge.log, you see log entries similar to the below:
Caused by: com.vmware.statsplatform.persistence.content.DuplicateKeyException: ViewDefinition with 'locale here' locale already exists in the system.

Resolution

This is a known issue in the VMware Aria Operations (formerly known as vRealize Operations) Management Pack for Horizon, and currently there is no resolution.  Please subscribe to the article to be alerted to updates.

Workaround:
To workaround the issue, import the vrho.zip file which is attached to this article into your environment.
  1. Log into the VMware Aria Operations UI as local admin
  2. Navigate to Visualize > Views > Manage > Actions (...) > Import
  3. Browse to the downloaded vrho.zip file
  4. Select the "Overwrite existing view" option and click the Import button
To validate whether workaround was applied properly or not:
  1. In the VMware Aria Operationst UI, navigate to Visualize > Views > Manage
  2. Sort the Last Modified column by the latest timestamp, which will show when the views were imported
  3. You should see that 144 views will show as modified with that latest timestamp
