Issue/Introduction

You have configured the NSX-T and your Workspace One (Formerly VIDM) appliance per the documentation linked below:

https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Validated-Design/6.0/sddc-deployment-of-cloud-operations-and-automation-in-the-first-region/GUID-4F023807-B938-45B4-83B8-D48F48307AA5.html

However, while attempting to access the NSX-T through workspace one for authentication, you receive an error of "502 Bad Gateway".

Environment

VMware NSX-T Data Center

Resolution

NSX-T does not support L7 HTTPS with certificates.

As a workaround you will also need to upload each portion of your Workspace Ones SSL cert individually. You will need to load them in the following order:
  1. Upload Workspace Ones SSL cert with no other component.
  2. Upload the Intermediate cert for Workspace Ones SSL cert.
  3. Upload the CA Root cert for Workspace Ones SSL cert.
Test connectivity to verify that you're no longer seeing the "502 Bad Gateway" message.
