Symptoms:
If you are unable to deploy a VM with an added disk in Aria Automation 8.x or perform a disk add Day 2 action, but can deploy a VM without an additional disk, this KB may apply.
In this case, you may encounter the following error, or something similar:
com.vmware.xenon.common.ServiceHost$ServiceNotFoundException: Service not found: http://##.##.##.##:8282/resources/storage-descriptions/[reference id]?$expand=documentLinks
Aria Automation 8.X
This issue is caused by stale references to storage in the Storage Profiles within Aria Automation.
Specifically, the storage is still referenced in Aria Automation, but no longer exists in the vSphere/vCenter environment.
These invalid references prevent the successful deployment of VMs with additional disks or performing disk add Day 2 actions.
To resolve this issue, browse through all Storage Profiles in Aria Automation. and remove any references to stale or unavailable storage datastore resources.
Once these invalid references are cleared, VM deployments with additional disks and Day 2 disk actions should function normally again.
Impact/Risks:
Until this issue is resolved, you will be unable to deploy VMs with additional disks or perform disk add Day 2 actions. This can impact workflows that require the addition of storage during VM deployment or post-deployment operations.
