Issue/Introduction

• NSX Upgrade from 4.0.1 to 4.1.0 fails with the error: unable to put NSX Manager into maintenance mode.
• The upgrade cannot be completed.
• The upgrade steps are empty in the UI, so the user will not know which step of the NSX manager upgrade has failed.
  
  get group maintenance-mode status
• shows maintenance mode status as TRANSITIONING_INTO_MAINTENANCE_MODE for group https

Environment

Cause

Upgrade of NSX Manager fails due to the reverse-proxy/auth service's failure to enter maintenance mode during upgrade.

Resolution

Workaround:

Restart the auth service using the CLI command and continue with the upgrade.

   restart service auth
