Error preparing log bundle. duplicate entry:conf/states.zip in Log-Bundle generation in VMware Identity Manager 3.3.4

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

Log Bundle Generation fails in VMware Identity Manager service configurator page https<host-name>:8443/cfg , you see error message similar to :

"Error preparing log bundle. duplicate entry:conf/states.zip"

 

Environment

VMware Identity Manager 3.3.x

Resolution

This issue is fixed in VMware Identity Manager 3.3.5, available at Broadcom Portal.

Workaround:
Note: Take snapshots without virtual memory (recommended) of VMware Identity Manager Service 3.3.4 Nodes

1. Login to the appliance with sshuser and switch to root.
2. Copy SVA-HW-137684-334.zip file from the attachments to the appliance.
3. Remove states.zip file if present in the path /usr/local/horizon/conf/states/ folder

cd /usr/local/horizon/conf/states/
rm states.zip

 

4. unzip the file SVA-HW-137684-334.zip file

Note: Read the READM.txt file 

cd SVA-HW-137684-334

5. Run the hot fix script:

./update.sh
