VMware NSX for vSphere

Issue/Introduction

Upgrading to VMware NSX for vSphere 6.2.5 resolves the issue.

Symptoms:
In a VMware NSX for vSphere 6.2.4 environment where an NSX Edge is upgraded or re-deployed, these symptoms are seen:
  • Anti-affinity rules are missing.
  • In the vSphere Web Client > NSX Cluster > Manage > DRS Rules, there are no entries under this configuration.

Environment

VMware NSX for vSphere 6.2.x

Cause

This issue occurs when anti-affinity rules are not being created and are not being applied to the ESXi host automatically.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware NSX for vSphere 6.2.5

To work around this issue if an upgrade is not possible, configure anti-affinity rules for re-deployed NSX Edge virtual machines manually. For more information, see the Using DRS Affinity Rules section of the vSphere Resource Management Guide.

Note: This issue reoccurs when the NSX Edges are re-deployed.

Additional Information

  • When HA mode is configured, both active and standby Edge virtual machines may be deployed on the same ESXi host.
