Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • mount.nfs: access denied by server while mounting.
  • On Linux client syslogs we see, "SELinux is preventing /usr/sbin/rpc.gssd from read access on the key labeled vmtools_t"


Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 7.0.0

Cause

Incorrect Linux NFS client settings.

Resolution

Modify the Linux client selinux policy:

Set appropriate SeLinux policy for rpc.gssd using system-config-selinux or other utilities based on Linux flavour.
