Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

Unable to add Floppy Drive, Parallel Port or a SCSI Device using vSphere Client 7


Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 7.0.0

Cause

Currently the vSphere Client 7 does not manage legacy devices including Sphere Floppy Drives, Parallel Ports and SCSI Devices.

Note: ESXi does not support floppy drives that are backed up by a physical floppy drive on the host.

Resolution

Currently there is no resolution.

Workaround:
To work around this issue manage the devices using:
  • Host Client
  • PowerCLI
  • API
