Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

  • Write or other modify operation fails with error: "Disk quota exceeded" (EDQUOT, error 122)
  • Soft and hard quota limit is not reached.
  • In the vdfsd-server.log, you see message similar to:

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 7.0.0

Cause

Write failure occurs due to incorrect quota enforcement. In certain cases, number of used block information might be incorrect and leads to write failure.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, disable quota for the specific share in the UI.
