VMware Cloud on AWS

Issue/Introduction

  • An Identity Source is/was created in the VMC on AWS vCenter.
  • Users were assigned permissions to objects in vCenter at one point.
  • These users or the Identity Source has been deleted, but the users are still showing in the "Users and Groups" section.
  • Attempting to remove the users is not possible due to "Delete" being grayed out.

Environment

VMware Cloud on AWS

Cause

  • The Identity Source needs to be resynced.
  • The user information is stale and needs to removed by the administrator account of the VMC on AWS vCenter.

Resolution

  • If the Identity Source is still in use, attempt to resync it
  • This can be done by editing the Identity Source, re-entering the password used for the service account, then saving it.
  • Confirm the users have been removed from "Users and Groups".
  • If the Identity Source is no longer in use or the resync did not resove the issue, open a ticket with the VMC on AWS Global Support team.
  • Include the following information in the ticket:
    • Organization ID
    • SDDC ID
    • Users that need to be deleted
