Issue/Introduction

To provide the process to remove NFS datastores and external storage in VMC on AWS SDDCs. 

Environment

VMC on AWS

Cause

The mounted NFS datastore or external storage is no longer needed in the environment. 
The "[email protected]" account does not have the required privileges to remove datastores. 

Resolution

To remove NFS datastores or external storage from a cluster, please follow this process: Remove External Storage From a Cluster

Please open a ticket with the VMC Global Support team if the above process does not remove the datastore: Get Support
Provide the following information when opening these types of tickets:

  • Organization ID
  • SDDC ID
  • NFS Datastore Name
  • Host names

There is no impact to the environment when removing NFS datastores or external storage.
