Issue/Introduction

ESX 6.5 supports memory hotplug operations of any size up to 6 TB. However, many Guest Operating Systems do not support such a high limit, or perform poorly when a large amount of memory is hotplugged.
For example, some Linux Operating Systems require many processes for memory node creation during large memory hotplug operations. The processes might significantly decrease the Guest OS performance or cause the Guest OS to become unresponsive.
