Issue/Introduction

A pop-up window is displayed while installing VMware Tools 9.10.x on a Windows VM. The window displays information about the installation of VmLocation driver while installing VMware Tools.

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 6.0

Resolution

To workaround this issue, disable the feature by using the command below to add the VmLocation to the list of drivers

 
VMware-tools-9.10.5-2981885-x86_64.exe /s /v "ADDLOCAL=ALL REMOVE=BootCamp,Hgfs,Unity,VmLocation /qn REBOOT=ReallySuppress
