Symptoms:
When you try to extend a disk, the VM freezes during disk expansion of thick provisioned eager zeroed disk during the complete process of disk expansion and will respond again once that process is complete.

Environment
VMware vSphere ESXi 6.0
Cause
VMs are stunned during the expansion process vSphere 6.0 onwards. However in ESXi 5.5 and below we expand in thin format, which was really quick.
Resolution
The issue has been fixed in ESXi 6.0 Patch 02 onwards.

Impact/Risks:
Since the BIG server like DB, SQL, and Exchange required eager zeroed disk type this was causing a lot of downtime for the customer.
