The vpxuser on an ESXi host displays the password has changed when there was no action

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• The vpxuser on the ESXi host reports that the password has changed, whereas you have not changed the password.
• In the /var/log/vpxa.log file, you will see entries similar to:

  Note: The preceding log excerpts are only examples. Date, time, and environmental variables may vary depending on your environment.

VMware vSphere ESXi 5.5

Cause

The password for the vpxuser account is auto-generated when an ESX/ESXi host is added to vCenter Server. This password is updated by default every 30 days.

Resolution

These messages can be safely ignored.
