Issue/Introduction

The virtual machine file system heap size values can be adjusted within the following limits:

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 5.0

Resolution

Use the following procedure and set the values within suggested limits in the above table:

  1. Log in to vCenter Server or the ESXi host using vSphere Client. If connecting to vCenter Server, select the ESXi host from the inventory.
  2. Click the Configuration tab.
  3. Click Advanced Settings.
  4. Select VMFS3.
  5. Update the field in VMFS3.MaxHeapSizeMB with the options as per the limits.
  6. Restart the ESXi Host for the changes to take effect.
