Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 7.0

Cause

This issue is caused by deadlock in exporting OVA.

As a result, ESXi host agent does not change the state of this virtual machine from VM_STATE_EXPORTING to the original state.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting ESXi 7.0 or later and older than 7.0 U3q.
This issue was fixed in VMware ESXi 8.0 Update 2 and VMware ESXi 7.0 Update 3q.

Workaround:

This issue can be resolved by restarting ESXi host daemon.

# /etc/init.d/hostd restart
