Enabling External Relationships on the SCOM Management Pack

Issue/Introduction

By default External Relationships are disabled for the SCOM MP. This is a precaution put in place to keep from overloading a vROps system when a large SCOM environment is present. To enable External Relationships follow the steps below:

 

1.  SSH into all nodes of the vROps cluster.

2.  Navigate to: $ALIVE_BASE/user/plugins/inbound/msscom_adapter3/conf

3.  Edit the "scom.properties" file.

4.  Near the bottom of the page you will want to change the following setting from false to true:

5.  Save and quit the file.

Once the next collection after the file has been saved begins it will start to create external relationships.
