Issue/Introduction

The Nagios Management Pack by default will attempt to pull in all services that exist in Nagios. In cases where only certain services need to be brought into vROps, there is a "Services Whitelist" in the adapter configuration where one can explicitly define which services they would like to monitor. Again, an empty whitelist field means that ALL services will be pulled into vROps.

Resolution

In order to determine if a service exists in Nagios, please perform the following steps:

1. Login to the Nagios user interface.

2. If not already there, click the "Home" link.

3. Expand "Details".

4. Click on "Services Detail". Here you will see a list of all the services that are currently being monitored by Nagios.

5. Take the names of the services you would like to monitor from the "Services" field, and type them into the adapter configuration "Services Whitelist" screen.

6. Click Save Settings.

If you have a service that exists in Nagios but is not showing in vROps, please open a support ticket with Broadcom Support.
