Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

Due to unexpected stale route prefix lists entries, there may be undesired BGP routes received and/or sent by the VMware SD-WAN Edge.

Environment

VMware SD-WAN
VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud

Cause

The issue is documented in bug #103708.

When new rules are added or existing rules are modified on a BGP filter from the Orchestrator, the prefix lists are added in the Edge's route-map configuration without removing the old entries. This behavior results in stale route prefix lists and unexpected filtering behavior.

Resolution

Issue #103708 is resolved by upgrading the SD-WAN Edge to Release 4.5.2 or later versions.

Release 5.0.0 is also affected by issue #103708 . The fix is available in Release 5.0.1 and Release 5.1.0.
