Issue/Introduction

Server Tools menu option not available when selecting more than one notification in the SMARTS solution pack Notifications view. This is shown in screenshot below of the M&R notification report :



In contrast, the SMARTS Console UI allows Server Tools menu options when multiple notifications are selected :

Environment

Watch4Net/M&R - 7.x

 

Smarts - 10.1.x

Cause

The Smarts Notification report in the M&R GUI does not provide all classic SMARTS SAM console features and functionalities.

Resolution

1). The existing M&R emc-smarts Notification report view allows Server Tool menu options for single notifications only by design.  

 

2). Server Tools are retrieved from the SAM server for each selected notifications, based on the configuration for the Notification and related device(s). For the Notification report  this would result in excessive web calls between the M&R and SAM server and was therefore disabled.
