Broker is unreachable from Smarts collector, which is preventing polling of Smarts domains.

Issue/Introduction

By default the Smarts solution pack configures the Smarts collector to communicate with the broker, but the broker is not reachable. Is there another way to poll the Smarts domains?

Cause

The Broker is unreachable from Watch4net/M&R

Resolution

Please follow below steps for a new install of the EMC Smarts SolutionPack (v6.2 and later)

• Open SolutionPack Center within Centralized Management and select the VMware Smarts SolutionPack. 
• Select the components to install and click next. 

There is a drop down list for Collection Mode. Select Smarts Collector. You will be presented with a form to enter your Smarts Domain host details as shown in below screenshot.

Note: Make sure that Smarts domain is configured to use a static port and not a dynamic port.
