EM restarting with this error message before the restart in the logs. " [ERROR] [Fast TransactionTrace incubator queue consumer thread] [Manager] Uncaught Exception in Enterprise Manager: In thread Fast TransactionTrace incubator queue consumer thread and the message is java.lang.StackOverflowError. "



APM 10.1 Enterprise Manager



The StackOverflowError is caused by a recursive call in the new Enterprise Manager Tranaction Trace plugin. It results in a StackOverflowError due to the transaction traces that it is handling are either too big or in a loop.



For are temporary work around until the hotfix is available, open the IntroscopeEnterpriseManager.properties files and change the following parameter:

From: introscope.apm.appmap.legacy.data.source=false

To: introscope.apm.appmap.legacy.data.source=true


You will be required to restart the EM for this parameter to take effect.

This is only changing the way data is gathered for the APP Map should not effect your environment.
