Issue/Introduction

Unable to see memory for hosts in physical server report. The value is blank even though the metric exists in the database for the corresponding device.

Environment

Watch4Net/M&R - 7.X

Cause

This is caused by a property called "part" that gets tagged with the metric. The current report is set to filter on part=real and part=physical.

Resolution

In this instance, we found that the part tagged for the device was not either real or physical. This can be verified in management of database metrics by searching for the device and expanding on property 'part'.

You will need to add whatever part type it returns with (if not default) in the report as an or statement. You can do that by following these steps:

Select the report in question.

  • Click on edit mode

  • In the Filtering and Expansion tab, review the filters section:

  • Right click on the part filters and select "or" --> Using a Wizard. Select part and enter the value as you see it in Management of database metrics.
  • Click save.
  • You should now be able to see the memory in Report.
