VirtualMachine and Hypervisor count in Smarts SP (ESM) inventory does not match count in Smarts INCHARGE-ESM

Issue/Introduction

Discrepancy with the inventory count

In Smarts ESM (INCHARGE-ESM) inventory, the VirtualMachine, Hypervisor, etc. count is greater than the count on Watch4net's Smarts Solution Pack ESM inventory.

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - Watch4Net/M&R: 10.1.X

Resolution

Duplicate entries of Virtual Machine names can exist from Smarts ESM, due to them being connected to one vCenter to another at some point. Smarts ESM counts them as unique instances.

In case of duplicate VM names, Watch4net will discard the duplicate entries. Thus, we would see a lower number versus Smarts ESM. This is working as designed.
