Time drift in guest operating system during snapshot removal

Issue/Introduction

During the snapshot consolidation process, you experience these symptoms:

• Virtual machines are stunned for the duration when the consolidation occurs.
• Time in guest operating system is drifted.

Cause

The guest operating system experiences a time drift because the virtual machine stuns during the consolidation process.

Resolution

• Enable the time synchronization in VMware Tools.
  OR
• Use Network Time Protocol (NTP) to synchronize the time of the guest operating system.
