Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
Virtual machine Physical Disk Placement screen shows all Container Volumes

Environment

VMware vSphere 6.7.x

Cause

The issue occurs when multiple container volumes are created on the vSAN cluster but only some of them are attached to a given VM/Pod. Going to VM > Monitor > vSAN > Physical disks, lists all the container volumes residing on the cluster.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, use the vSAN Virtual Objects screen on cluster level.
