Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • Update Manager plug-in is not present in the Web Client even when logged in as SSO administrator.
  • The plug-in works as expected in the vSphere Client.
  • No errors are reported in the logs.
  • This issue persists even after re-registering the Update Manager plug-in or reinstalling Update Manager.

VMware vCenter Server 5.5.x

VMware vCenter Update Manager 5.5.x

VMware vCenter Server 6.0.x

Cause

This issue occurs due to an incompatible third-party plug-in installed in vCenter server.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, update or remove any incompatible third-party plug-ins. For more information, see Removing or Disabling unwanted plug-ins from vCenter Server and vCenter Server Appliance.
