Issue/Introduction

 

Question:

Why do I get a certificate error when accessing to ENTM using HTTPS URL?

Environment:

Privileged Account Manager 12.8

 

Answer:

There could be different reasons, one of the most common is a mismatch between the website you requested and the website the certificate was issued for. If you analyze the certificate you will get the reason why the browser shows that error:

In this particular case we tried to access to ENTM using the machin's hostname but as it can be read in the certificate details (field “Issued to”) it was issued for the host Prueba so we would have to access to ENTMe using the hostname that appears in the certficate, that will avoid triggering the security’s certificate problem message:
