How to you filter out all events except for those that are the root cause?
How do you only see BGP session events but not BGP disconnected events?

To create a new notification list in the Smarts Console, proceed as follows:

1.) Open the Smarts Console and connect to the Service Assurance Manager (SAM) domain to view the notification log.
2.) Right click on the menu bar area and select Filter:

3.) To see only BGP session events create two filter sheets as shown.

a.) The first sheet (containing two lines) filters out System events :

Owner matches ~System
and
Event matches ~Disconnected

b.) Click the Sheet:2 tab to add lines to the second filter sheet (if the second sheet does not exist, create it by clicking Edit - Add Sheet )
c.) Create the filters as below on the second sheet. These filters match only BGPSession Disconnects which are Root Cause events:

Class matches BGPSession
Event matches Disconnected
IsRoot matches Yes
