Smarts SAM: Last and First notify appearing as 'Never' in console

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:




Presentation SAM showing notifications from underlying SAM as having First and Last Notify as 'Never'

Audit logs from both PRES SAMs showed correct entries with correct timestamp for notifications.

Environment

Cause

The Smarts SAM notification process has the following operations:

• notification creation
• calling notify
• change notify so that the clients know about the new notification

The above issue is usually seen when there is no notify/change called.  However, in this case we could also see a situation where one Pres SAM was receiving the notify/change correctly and notifications displaying correctly and the other Pres SAM was not. This could be caused by a timing issue.

Resolution

To address this issue, disable/enable the PRES SAM to synchronize the Smarts SAM domains and remove the timing issue if present.
