Smarts OI: HostedBy relationships missing for Host Objects

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:


Missing HostedBy attribute in the OI domain in relation to the same device in IP Manager

HostedBy Attribute not showing in OI for Host, however the HostedBy attribute for the same Host shows in IP. 

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

Some HostedBy attributes,may get removed from OI, possibly due to changes in the Virtual Machine environment related to the Host device. OI removes this attribute and is not able to repopulate the attribute once removed in OI.

Resolution

The recommendation is to delete the device in OI, and then detach the AM Domain from the OI domain, apply and reconfigure and the reattach the AM- Domain and reconfigure.  

An additional step before doing this is to roll the OI domain log for troubleshooting purposes.
/dmctl -s <OI server> exec roll_log 

1. ./dmctl -s <OI server> delete IP::IP-170.116.232.146 

2. Disable AMPM domain in OI and click Apply and reconfigure
3. Enable AMPM domain in OI and click Apply and reconfigure
4. Review the device attributes.
5. Check the log for any errors,
