This article explains how to exclude certain types of devices from being discovered during an auto-discovery.



When setting up Smarts IP Auto-Discovery, discovery filters are needed to determine what devices should be discovered.  When creating filters, the values you enter represent values you would like discovered, not values you want filtered out.  With this in mind, to prevent certain device types from being discovered, you can simply leave then out of the filter.  For Example, if you do not want to discover bridge devices, you can select all "System Types", then deselect 'Bridge" as shown in the following:




The above filter would allow all devices to be discovered except Bridges.

Additional Information

IMPORTANT! Discovery filters only apply to Auto-Discovery.  When adding agent, any IP address entered will be discovered regardless of how you have configured your filter.
