Smarts MBIM: Maintenance of Business Impact Manager (BIM) is not getting enabled

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:


MBIM is running on the server and SAM is attached - through add source, but maintenance is not getting enabled .

./dmctl -s SAM invoke ICS_InMaint :: ICS-InMaint enableMaintenance
The maintenance adapter could not be enabled.
Check that BIM is running, connected and has added SAM as a source of topology.
MBIM is running , attached in global manager and also GSAM is attached to MBIM in domain manager

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

SAM domain in MBIM is having  Type = SAM , the type for SAM domain is  SA  not  SAM .

./dmctl -s MBIM get InChargeDomain::InChargeDomain_SAM | grep Type
                     Type = SAM

Resolution

To resolve the issue, simply change the Type = SAM to Type = SA
