Issue/Introduction

Question:

What is the maximum record length that CA Dispatch can process ?

 

Answer:

The maximum record length (LRECL) for reports being sent to CA Dispatch is 32K. 

However, due to the way Online Viewing functions, truncation will occur in Online Viewing after 256 characters. 

Message DC900112 LRECL GREATER THAN 256, DATA MAY BE TRUNCATED will be shown on in Online Viewing screen VOVMI320 when you select the report. 

 

The truncation will only occur when the report is viewed in Online Viewing. The printed output from Dispatch supports the 32K LRECL and thus records will print on their actual length.
