What is the effect of changing the hostname or IP address of the Alcatel-Lucent 5620 EMS SAM server on the Smarts Alcatel 5620 SAM Adapter (ASAM Adapter)?

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Resolution

There will not be any impact of HostName change on ASAM Adapter ( 3.2.0.8) up to Alcatel-Lucent 5620 EMS SAM server R13.

If assigning a new IP address, the emsConfig.import file of the ASAM Adapter needs to be updated using sm_edit after which the ASAM Adapter needs to be restarted.

Example:  We need to modify in emsConfig.import file in below section.

Note:
