Cannot enable Maintenance for Smarts SAM Business Impact Manager (MBIM). The following error is received after Smarts SAM restart when attempting to enable Maintenance for <SAM_Domain>:
Enable Maintenance operation failed: The maintenance adapter could not be enabled. Check that BIM is running, connected and has added SAM as a source of topology. Schedule Maintenance status has not been changed on the server.
MBIM log has error:
[September 23, 2025 at 8:27:33 AM GMT+1 +027ms] t@3986605824 ICS-MaintenanceCleanup-Driver ASL-W-ERROR_GET-While attempting to get property 'InMaintTable' of object 'ICS_InMaint::ICS-InMaint' CI-EWHILE-While executing function "get(className, instanceName, propertyName)"; in file "/work/redcurrent/DMT-10.1.12.0/16/smarts/skclient/servif/SM_RestartableServer.c" at line 1536 SVIF-ESERVERUNAVAIL-Remote server 'ICSServer-' is unavailable
Environment
Smarts - 10.1.x/24.3.x
Cause
SAM is not added as a source to MBIM.
Though SAM is added but it is in DISCONNECTED State in MBIM.
Resolution
Start the Smarts Business Impact Manager (BIM) server.
Add the Smarts MBIM domain to the SAM domain as follows:
Open SAM GMAC console Global Manager Administration Console
Expand ICS Configuration
Expand IC Domain Configuration
Expand Domains
In case MBIM is not available, add to the MBIM domain.
If MBIM added, disable, reconfigure and reenable it.
Add the SAM domain as a topology source as follows:
Go to Configure --> Domain Manager Administration Console.
Select the MBIM server.
Go to Topology --> Add Source.
Insert the SAM domain name.
In case doing above is not helpful, it might be due to RPS corruption. Start with clean MBIM topology and follow above mentioned steps.
