VMware Smart Assurance

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

VRRP discovery is not happening for devices even though the VRRPEnabled is set to TRUE in the smarts/conf/discovery/discovery.conf file
(It is set to TRUE by default).

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

VRRPEnabled is set to TRUE by default.

In this case, there are no VRRP oids in the sm_snmpwalk files for the device, therefore it has not been configured on the device

Resolution

The oids for checking if VRRP exists for the device are :

vrrpAssoIpAddrRowStatusOID {".1.3.6.1.2.1.68.1.4.1.2"}
vrrpOperVirtualMacAddrOID {".1.3.6.1.2.1.68.1.3.1.2"}
vrrpOperPriorityOid { ".1.3.6.1.2.1.68.1.3.1.5" }
vrrpOperVirtualMacAddrOid { ".1.3.6.1.2.1.68.1.3.1.2" }
vrrpOperRowStatusOid { ".1.3.6.1.2.1.68.1.3.1.15" }
vrrpOperMasterIpAddrOID {".1.3.6.1.2.1.68.1.3.1.7"}
ipNetToMediaPhysAddressOID {".1.3.6.1.2.1.4.22.1.2"}

If these are not in the sm_snmpwalk files for the device in question, then VRRP has not been configured on the device.
