Resolution

In Smarts Server Manager, (ESM) Application Process Monitoring is enabled by default.  In ESM 9.3 Application Service Groups were also introduced as an enhancement to the Application Process Monitoring

In the current 9.4 Server Manager User and Configuration Guide it discuss how to Enable or Disable the Application Process Monitoring on Page 179

https://support.emc.com/docu57508_Smarts-Server-Manager-9.4-User-and-Configuration-Guide.pdf?language=en_US

To enable or disable automatic process monitoring:
    1. Go to Polling and Thresholds > Threshold and click ESM Service Process AutoConfiguration.
    2. Expand ESM Service Process AutoConfig and click Settings > Service Process AutoConfig Setting as shown in Figure 11 on page 179.
    3. On the right pane, click Parameters tab and select an option from the AutoConfigMode drop-down list to enable or disable automatic process monitoring configuration.

By default the Matching Criteria for Process Monitoring AutoConfig is set to Name | Name of Object |*

This allows all of the discovered members to be included in these settings.

If you find that this is not working to disable all the Application Process Monitoring, please check the matching criteria in your environment and confirm that it matches the default settings shown here.
