Can user discover the Child VDC Devices from the Mac address available in Main (Admin) VDC Device Discovery?

How to discover VDC devices in SMARTS .Need to know if Child VDC device can be discovered from the Mac address available in Main(Admin ) VDC Device Discovery.

Environment

Cause

Smarts cannot discover the Child VDC device from the Mac Address available in the Main VDC Device Discovery. Also Smarts IP requires an IP address for discovery of all devices.

Resolution

The procedure is to discover all VDC devices with their own IP addresses and Smarts IP will generate the relationships during discovery.

VDC discovery:

1) Enable the flag EnableVirtualDataContextDiscovery in tpmgr-param.conf file controls VDC discovery.

Default Value=TRUE

2) Provide the read-only or Administrator VDC credentials under the CLI Access Group in
Polling and Threshold -> Device Access.

3) Discover all the VDC devices using their IP addresses.

4) Discovery will create Switch(Main Switch)->ComposedOf->Switch(Child Switch) relationship.

5) Relationships are created based on the Child Switch Mac address and Sub-VDC Mac address available in Main VDC Device.
