This article helps to understand SNMP timeout with the Unresponsive and NotResponsive events on SNMPAgent class

Resolution

When SNMP polling times out, Smarts can generate either one or both of the following events:

  • SNMPAgent Unresponsive: This event is generated when the SNMP polling times out but the ICMP ping is successful
  • SNMPAgent NotResponsive: This event is generated when the SNMP polling times out and the ICMP ping failed.
