Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:


Blue Coat proxy SSL V3800B decryption device, .1.3.6.1.4.1.3417.1.5.4, uses the following Field Certificate Template. However, no interfaces are being created in the topology

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

The device in question (.1.3.6.1.4.1.3417.1.5.4) was field certified with generic-MIB2 driver that should create interface based on the ifDesc table entries;however, due to an agent bug, the ifDesc table does not return any value and hence no interfaces were created.

Resolution

After saving all the files, restart the domain and re-discover the device via SNMP V1

This is an Agent Bug and has to be addressed by Blue Coat not DellEMC. You may contact Blue Coat and share this information with them for further clarification
