This article answers various questions raised with respect to the CLI discovery option in Smarts
All supported Smarts versions
If you check the certification file for a particular vendor (oid2type_<vendor>.conf) you may find this dasl driver included for some models:
DASLDRIVER = <Driver>
If you find this dasl driver included in the certification, then that device will have a CLI discovery.
For instance, Cisco 6506:
# ./sm_edit ../conf/discovery/oid2type_Cisco.conf
# Cisco Catalyst 6506
.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.282 {
TYPE = Switch
VENDOR = Cisco
MODEL = 6506
CERTIFICATION = CERTIFIED
DASLDRIVER = CiscoCatOSSwitch
CONT = Cisco-EntityRF-Switch
VLAN = Cisco-Membership
BRIDGE = Cisco
NEIGHBOR = Cisco-Stack-CLI
HEALTH = Cisco-Catalyst-Switch-EntSensor
.........................
This entry means CLI will be used as part of the discovery process
