Resolution

Can Smarts IP be configured to poll a device at a particular time?

Is there a way to schedule Smarts IP polling on a device at a particular time?

As of the date this article was approved (July 2013), Smarts does not have this capability. There is no driver in Smarts which can be set to poll a device or specific polling group at a particular scheduled time.

Additional Information

If you want to stop monitoring of any device, you can do this with the following DMCTL command:
<IP_BASEDIR>/smarts/bin/dmctl -s <IP_DOMAIN_NAME>   set SNMP_AccessorInterface::SNMP-Poller::suspendMonitoring TRUE

You can then schedule maintenance for that device in SAM so that the notifications can be ignored.  See the "Schedule Maintenance option" in the Smarts SAM configuration guide for more details.
