Smarts SAM: How to filter out traps based on community string with the Smarts trap adapter

How to filter out all traps received on trap adapter or trap exploder that have a specific community string?
The Smarts software does not provide a mechanism in its GA release for filtering traps based on their community string. The trapd.conf file nor the trap_mgr.conf cannot be used to filter on incoming traps based on community string.
There are only two alternatives is to solve this problem: The first is to modify the the trap parsing script for either the trap exploder or trap adapter to attempt to create a mechanism for filtering out a trap based on the community string. The second is to have the trap_mgr.conf set up to call a rule that will prevent the creation of a notification when a community string matches a criteria.
Both of these types solution will require the engagement of EMC Professional services.
