Smarts IP: No modeling of physical connectivity for router-switch connection if router has IP configured on VLAN due to interfaces of "ifType 53" not being discovered.

Issue/Introduction

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

By default, Smarts IP does not discover interfaces of type 53 (PROPVIRTUAL).

Resolution

To resolve this issue so that Smarts IP discovery will include ifType 53, do the following:

1. Add the following line in the tpmgr-param.conf configuration file:

IFTypePatternIFExt <OID of the device> 53

2. Reload the tpmgr-param.conf configuration file as follows:

sm_tpmgr -s <APM-domain> --load-conf=tpmgr-param.conf

3.  Rediscover the device in Smarts IP.

Look at the <SMARTS>/conf/discovery/tpmgr-param.conf for a list of all interface type.
