Issue/Introduction

This article explains how you can determine when a Smarts ASAM Adapter rediscovery operation such as a router rediscovery using routerDiscover.asl script is finished in the log file.

Environment

All Supported Smarts releases

Resolution

When a re-discovery operation is complete, an ASAM_MESSAGE indicating "Discovery completed" for the operation will be recorded in the Smarts ASAM Adapter log file.

The following sections show an example of the command and corresponding log output that will be seen in the domain logs for a router re-discovery using the routerDiscover.asl script.

Command Example:
./sm_adpater -s ASAM Domain "#.#.#.#" alcatel-sam/routerDiscover.asl
Log Output Example:
ASAM_MESSAGE-*-INFO-.[SmWorker] Router Specific Discovery starting for network:x.x.x.x Available memory:29680200

[<Date & Time>] t@<epoch>
ASAM_MESSAGE-*-INFO-.[SmWorker] Pinging server

[<Date & Time>] t@<epoch>
ASAM_MESSAGE-*-INFO-.[SmWorker] Server pinged

[<Date & Time>] t@<epoch>
ASAM_MESSAGE-*-INFO-.[SmWorker] Router Discovery completed - Discovered #Routers:1 {sim79=Router::network:x.x.x.x}
