This article explains how to create custom Polling and Threshold groups in Smarts IP, and have them successfully propagate to a receiving Smarts IP Manager domain.

Before pushing configurations to an underlying Smarts IP domain, do the following:
  1. Ensure that the IP Domain(s) has been added using "Add Target" in Smarts IP Configuration Manager:

  1. Ensure that IsConfigEnabled is set to TRUE in IP Configuration Manager for each of the receiving IP Domains where you are attempting to push groups:

  1. When creating a custom "Polling" or "Threshold" group, make sure it has active "Current Settings" applied and is not Empty. If the group does not have any settings, the group will not be pushed to a receiving IP Domain.
  2. Make sure the ServiceName in the IP Domain is set to be managed by the Smarts IP Configuration Manager. This is done as follows:
    1. From the Domain Manager Administration Console of the IP Domain, Press Ctrl + Alt + M to enable meta classes.
    2. Refresh the tree with a right-click.
    3. Expand ICIM_Manager -> ICIM-Manager
    4. Make sure the ServiceName is is correctly set as the Configuration Manager domain name as seen below:

  1. Make sure for each group you create the "Apply configuration to managed domains:" is populated with an asterisk (*). This is the default, which pushes to all Add Target Domains, or only the applicable domain names.

  1. Push configurations to the underlying Smarts IP domain.
