Issue/Introduction

If new custom polling and threshold setting is created, how can it be pushed to target domain added to IP Configuration Manager (CM) or to specific IP domains added in CM.

Environment

Smarts - 10.1.x

Resolution

  • Ensure that the IP Domain(s) has been added using "Add Target" in Smarts IP Configuration Manager (CM):

  • Ensure that IsConfigEnabled is set to TRUE in IP Configuration Manager for each of the receiving IP Domains where you are attempting to push groups:

  • When creating a custom "Polling" or "Threshold" group, make sure it has active "Current Settings" applied and is not empty. If the group does not have any settings, the group will not be pushed to a receiving IP Domain.
  • Make sure the ServiceName in the IP Domain is set to be managed by the Smarts IP Configuration Manager. This can be verified as follow:
    • From the Domain Manager Administration Console of the IP Domain, Press Ctrl + Alt + M to enable meta classes.
    • Refresh the tree with a right-click to view Meta Classes.
    • Expand ICIM_Manager -> ICIM-Manager
    • Make sure the ServiceName is is correctly set as the Configuration Manager domain name as seen below:

  • Make sure for each group you create the "Apply configuration to managed domains" is populated with an asterisk (*) which is the default setting, which pushes to all domains which are the Target Domains of Configuration Manager.

NOTE: If you have 2 or more Domains added as a Target to Configuration Manager (CM) and want configuration to be pushed to one or specific domain then add those Domain name in "Apply configuration to managed domains".

  • Push configurations to the underlying Smarts IP domain from CM domain.
